“Was not their mistake once more bred of the life of slavery that they had been living?—a life which was always looking upon everything, except mankind, animate and inanimate—‘nature,’ as people used to call it—as one thing, and mankind as another, it was natural to people thinking in this way, that they should try to make ‘nature’ their slave, since they thought ‘nature’ was something outside them” — William Morris

US Journalists, Stop Glamorizing Prime Minister's Question Time

You say it's a healthy back and forth unquote, unlike the fake civility in the US congress. But it isn't. It's spin on steroids. It's the original PR. It has everything to do with pure style and it totally gets in the way.

Until Jeremy Corbyn blew it up. No room for Etonians to show off, you see.

Corbyn provides visceral energy as a holy redeemer in sandals and a hairshirt come to cast aside false prophets but we venture onto Deleuzian turf here. His archetype is present in medieval imagery and continues in the never-ending trend of Anglican priests who wear socks with sandals. Whenever he speaks it seems more Arctic Monkeys than Billy Bragg though. I truly savor that he not only is objectionable on a class basis but that he makes all the old Etonians as uncomfortable as the hipsters.
