“Was not their mistake once more bred of the life of slavery that they had been living?—a life which was always looking upon everything, except mankind, animate and inanimate—‘nature,’ as people used to call it—as one thing, and mankind as another, it was natural to people thinking in this way, that they should try to make ‘nature’ their slave, since they thought ‘nature’ was something outside them” — William Morris

Crowd Control

I like San Francisco Airport. I don't usually like airports. But I do like this one—actually I really like it. I always look forward to transiting here. It's been designed carefully, you can see that. Someone thought about the not too foreboding signage. Someone really thought about the interconnected hubs. They dilute the flow of traffic and provide true way stations for you to orient yourself, as well as bringing the gates closer together. The absolute contrast for me would be Dulles or Chicago. I almost like Denver. But the libertarians who set up the wifi should never be allowed to mess with public space again.
