“Was not their mistake once more bred of the life of slavery that they had been living?—a life which was always looking upon everything, except mankind, animate and inanimate—‘nature,’ as people used to call it—as one thing, and mankind as another, it was natural to people thinking in this way, that they should try to make ‘nature’ their slave, since they thought ‘nature’ was something outside them” — William Morris

Vegan Status Report

(1) It's much easier than vegetarianism. Why? Easy--you don't get that stimulating cholesterol hit from milk and eggs, that makes other stuff taste inadequate. Anyone with addiction issues would be well served by veganism.

(2) Be careful what you dream of--in my case an eighties skit about vegans eating nothing but sitting at the back of the restaurant looking smug--it may come up and surprise you...

(3) OMG I am a vegan anarchist!

now you just need to stop listening to shoegaze and start listening to punk/hardcore

That might not happen... : ) But my dad played for the Sex Pistols, does that count?

are you finding that you cook at home more often? or do you guys have lots of vegan-friendly restaurants over there?
How are people, inc. family, taking to the change? receptive? snarky? :D
and, as someone with addiction issues, i can say that veganism was part of the psychological path to recovery, but certainly, and unfortunately, not the means in and of itself.

I'm a vegan, have been for years, but found that I do cook at home much more. Just this week I made seitan from scratch, for instance, that I will use in various things I make. Lots of stir-frys and such too. Where I live there is very little vegan friendly stuff around.

Thanks guys for posting--keep going, I'm finding it very inspiring. Feed Me, I'm happy to say that my peeps are very into food and very supportive so I haven't lacked for deliciousness. No snarks yet but I shall report them if they arise.

I am very interested in reading more about why you are a vegan-anarchist-writer-Tim, instead of a vegan-Marxist-writer-Tim.

Very well. I shall endeavor so to do.
