Getting Ready for This Thing

The Secret Life of Plants. So Jane Bennett is here: it is always good to see her and for some reason we enjoy laughter, which is often a good thing, I find. Jeff Dolven is running an incredible institute here where students in their third Ph.D. year actually have to make something in a medium that they are not familiar with. Shades of carpentry, Ian Bogost! The exhibition space of everyone's work has a beautiful lightness and good humor. See for instance this (below), a brilliant usage of Jane's book:
