“Was not their mistake once more bred of the life of slavery that they had been living?—a life which was always looking upon everything, except mankind, animate and inanimate—‘nature,’ as people used to call it—as one thing, and mankind as another, it was natural to people thinking in this way, that they should try to make ‘nature’ their slave, since they thought ‘nature’ was something outside them” — William Morris

Fly from Here, a Brief Opening Remark

Unlike some who have already kindly send me their responses to the new Yes album, I actually find on first listen that this is really compelling. Fly from Here fairly zips past—not easy for a 20 minute Yes behemoth. And you just have to love those gorgeous Horn style vocals. Yes, indeed it's oozing with kitsch. Don't you just love it?

Have just heard from Chris Squire that not only can he still sing really well (used to be a choirboy), but he's really upped his game. I wonder again whether Horn brought this out.

Nice one guys. This is the sequel to Drama that we were all waiting for. Even those of us (me included) who love Jon Anderson more than anything, without whom there could be no “Yes music” (as Rick Wakeman puts it).

Damn I just love a good harmony—this is just perfecto.

Yes are all good working class boys from all over England. Love em.
