“Was not their mistake once more bred of the life of slavery that they had been living?—a life which was always looking upon everything, except mankind, animate and inanimate—‘nature,’ as people used to call it—as one thing, and mankind as another, it was natural to people thinking in this way, that they should try to make ‘nature’ their slave, since they thought ‘nature’ was something outside them” — William Morris

OMG

I've just written the drama book. It took five days. Or more accurately, twenty hours.

Hyperobjects took fifteen six-hour days. That was the record so far.

The Ecological Thought took eight weeks.

Ecology without Nature took about six months. So did my other new book, Hell (Columbia). Have I told you about that yet? They really like it. They say it's real theology and they're going to circulate it in religious fora.

I can't believe how much of a sneeze this drama book was. Twenty hours!

It's good. I swear. I had a weird experience writing Hell of having the idea simultaneous with typing. But with A Theory of Drama, the typing happened before I had the idea. I'm not kidding. It was so weird.

Looking forward to it, Timothy. When will it be released?
