“Was not their mistake once more bred of the life of slavery that they had been living?—a life which was always looking upon everything, except mankind, animate and inanimate—‘nature,’ as people used to call it—as one thing, and mankind as another, it was natural to people thinking in this way, that they should try to make ‘nature’ their slave, since they thought ‘nature’ was something outside them” — William Morris

I'm Haunted by This Question

We might be going extinct quite soon. What ought we to leave behind us for the other lifeforms.

Me as well. I imagine that our all of our interactions leave markings or residues in the field of Earthly existence. Living our lives respectfully tending relationships may help the forgotten ones who will succeed us remember

Why should we leave something? Is this wish not rather the expression of not fully agreeing with the present as imperfect and devastating, as it is? This is my hypothesis since it is not up to us to answer what we leave, but up to the existencies who -upon their status quo and needs- take something out of what they see beeing left by us.
