“Was not their mistake once more bred of the life of slavery that they had been living?—a life which was always looking upon everything, except mankind, animate and inanimate—‘nature,’ as people used to call it—as one thing, and mankind as another, it was natural to people thinking in this way, that they should try to make ‘nature’ their slave, since they thought ‘nature’ was something outside them” — William Morris

Jeff VanderMeer
He just got in touch with me and, synchronicity, look what just happened: Hyperobjects showed up in this New Yorker piece about his work. I'm super happy about that obviously.

Congratulation. But . . . your work deserves a better and wider audience than the Conde Nast readers. Magazines are recyclable but Hyperobjects can possibly be everlasting.
The connection also appeared in an LA Times review of his book that came out a little while ago. I read his first book right about the time I was more than halfway through Hyperobjects and couldn't get the feeling out of my head that both books were in conversation with each other.
