“Was not their mistake once more bred of the life of slavery that they had been living?—a life which was always looking upon everything, except mankind, animate and inanimate—‘nature,’ as people used to call it—as one thing, and mankind as another, it was natural to people thinking in this way, that they should try to make ‘nature’ their slave, since they thought ‘nature’ was something outside them” — William Morris

Strawberry Death Smoke

I named my 90s band Rubyliquid mostly because it reminded me of the cover of MBV's Loveless.

Mike Snyder my partner in that venture and I have been talking about the new album, which arrived like a pure gift after 20 years of expecting and waiting and giving up. It's a very interesting thing, that alone. The way the album becomes a gift like that. Anyway:

"It is strange. It's as if they absorbed everything of the last 20 years and fed it through their strawberry death smoke...

Yes the last one. You know the keyboardy one? If you listen to it on super speakers you hear a whole extra song pulsing away--not exactly in "the background." I can't understand what they did!"
