Why the Heck Isn't There an Ecology Divsion at MLA?

I mean, come on, it's 2012 and global warming has been upon us for a while. We're 200 years into the Anthropocene folks! Let's get this together!

Let's make this happen for next year. Seriously, I'm on board and will help however I can. Maybe we could start right here by forming a comment stream to this post, from which we could then form a list of people and present a formal proposal to MLA. Or whatever it takes!
