“Was not their mistake once more bred of the life of slavery that they had been living?—a life which was always looking upon everything, except mankind, animate and inanimate—‘nature,’ as people used to call it—as one thing, and mankind as another, it was natural to people thinking in this way, that they should try to make ‘nature’ their slave, since they thought ‘nature’ was something outside them” — William Morris

Big Cut

Good heavens, this is the best cut ever. I've cut the essay in half. I don't think I've ever done such a radical cut before. At first I had some resistance, but the essay is so much better for it, as is almost always the case.

When you cut you have to drop your fixation a little bit. It's very good for your ego.

Hi Tim. I mentioned you in one of my posts. Nothing major; just touched upon one of your terms. Hope you don't mind?

I still haven't gotten to a place where I feel the least bit comfortable cutting my work. I never see it as cutting words. More like cutting sounds; irritates me when I cut out nice combinations of sounds.
