Enjoyable spectacle of patriarchal comeuppance aside, beneath the neoliberal jackboot, I mean mule, is not a merry place to be so forgive me for a bit of concern.
Trump was actually semi-correct concerning free trade but everything else might have been lifted from a parody of a political contest in a former Soviet Republic.
What was more concerning is the announcement that the US will not hit even the mild the Paris Climate Protocol targets in 25 years, Hilary's embrace of the IMF and Worldbank protocols and expected embrace of TPP and TAFTA once elected, and the sad sad image of Jill Stein being manhandled away by the bouncers. Whether you are with Jill or not that bit of pathos shows you where the progressive left stands in the US.

An old colleague of mine told me that his 4 year old grand-daughter watched the presidential debates and that she "liked the grandma, not the meanie."
