My friend Greg Dobbins, author of Lazy Idle Schemers, is a huge, huge treasure trove of knowing about pop music of all types and he loves My Bloody Valentine.
I haven't heard his reply to my email yet, but I bet he's thinking what I'm thinking, which is that Kevin Shields's "too slow for slow" production of the follow-up to Loveless exemplifies what is said of the Irish...that they don't know how to fit into industrial life.
The album immediately becomes a gift, by that logic, which is very interesting. And good!
