Zero Waste and OOO

Candace Anderson's talk at the Philosophy and Waste conference has brought to my mind the deep affinities between OOO and the Zero Waste movement. Recycling is a form of materialism embodied: you melt an object into its material (undermining). This takes energy and can create more problems than it solves. Zero waste by contrast prefers form and function over material.

Instead of melting the object into a flow and sending that flow elsewhere, why not reuse it?

More on this very soon.
