It's very good to read, I think. It's a very elegant spelling out of the pitfalls of what he calls
literalism, which he applies to the eliminativist side of speculative realism. In contrast to this, there are the
absorption folks, of which I seem to be one. Jackson is very good on how the aesthetic stakes in each case are very different, even perpendicular to one another: what Lyotard would maybe have called a differend. All the way down into the rhetoric used in each kind of speculative philosophy, there are very different expectations for what counts as reading, thinking, and perceiving.
