“Was not their mistake once more bred of the life of slavery that they had been living?—a life which was always looking upon everything, except mankind, animate and inanimate—‘nature,’ as people used to call it—as one thing, and mankind as another, it was natural to people thinking in this way, that they should try to make ‘nature’ their slave, since they thought ‘nature’ was something outside them” — William Morris

Argue the Toss in Public Please

If you don't know me directly—if that is you have only corresponded with me on email or in some other medium—then if you write me with hostility, it is vanishingly unlikely that I shall reply.

Please do post your hostile comments in public where everyone can see them. Failing that, invite me to your place, if you are working somewhere like I am, and let's do hash it out in public.

You don't know me—is this clear?

I don't have the money at my institution to cover your travel and honorarium. How about you invite me there instead?
